Without question, GUTTER CLEANING should be at the top of your “MUST DO” list for home preventative maintenance. Why? A clean and efficient gutter system allows water to flow smoothly and drain properly away from your home and its foundation. Clogged gutters can cause a variety of problems to occur that can result in very costly repairs such as:

WOOD ROT: Gutters overflowing with debris can hold moisture. This moisture can damage the fascia board to which the gutters are attached and in extreme cases, even the framework itself. Also, gutters full of debris can become quite heavy causing them to pull away from the house.

FOUNDATION DAMAGE AND LEAKING BASEMENTS: The roof water must go somewhere. So if your gutter system is not operating properly, the water will overflow and accumulate at the base of your foundation. Excessive amounts of water against the foundation can lead to cracks and basement leaks.

INSECT INFESTATIONS: Trapped gutter debris that holds moisture is an ideal breeding ground for mosquitoes and other insects.

LANDSCAPING DAMAGE: If the water is not flowing away from your home, chances are it is running directly down onto the landscaping and groundcover surrounding your home. Replacing the landscaping materials around the home several times per year can become quite costly.

We have not met a homeowner yet that enjoys the prospect of cleaning their gutters. Aside from being a dirty job, it can be very dangerous as well. Falls are one of the number one causes of death and injury at home. Stay safe and call All Brite to handle this task for you.

Our crews will completely clear the debris out of the gutters and downspouts to ensure proper water flow. When finished, we will clear any fallen gutter trash off driveways, walkways, patios, decks, etc., and blow the trash into a wooded area if available, or blend it into the natural landscape surrounding the home. Your landscaping will look as good if not better than when we arrived. In some instances such as well manicured lawns, blending in the debris may not be an option. In most situations, our basic gutter cleaning service will provide the necessary results to ensure clog-free and properly functioning gutters. However on rare occasions, we come across a home where a downspout is so full of debris, that we will have to take the downspout apart, clear the clog by hand, and reassemble the downspout. This is normally the case when gutter cleaning has been neglected for a considerable amount of time. There is an extra charge of $35.00 for this service, but we do not perform this service without the homeowner’s permission.

Many homeowners are surprised to learn that even if they have installed a Gutter Guard or Gutter Screen system, the gutters will still need to be cleaned periodically. These systems can be somewhat efficient at keeping larger objects from entering the gutters, but the fact is, over time smaller objects will slip through. Also, granules from your roof shingles will slip through the screens and cause a buildup of heavy sludge that will clog the gutter system. We have not seen any Gutter Guard System on the market that will completely eliminate the need for occasional gutter cleaning. You may not need to clean them as often, but the gutters will need to be cleaned.

When you schedule your gutter cleaning, you will be given a day and time-window of when to expect our crew, and you do not need to be home for this service. We also call the day before as a reminder, and ask that you take certain precautions before our crew arrives. For example, don’t park cars under the roofline, cover or move any lawn furniture, lower umbrellas, and cover any pool or ponds that are close to the house. At this time you can provide us with any special instructions or concerns you may have regarding specific areas of landscaping, plants, or flower beds that need to be avoided.
